It is Time for Tea

And more importantly, it is time for me to start blogging again!!!!  I really don't have any good excuses....I have been a little busy, and I have had "blogger block", but I guess the real reason is I have just been a little lazy and not very motivated.  NOT any more, The Saucy Gourmet is back and hopefully will be better than ever!
We have been having a great time at Rolling Pin and the teas have been such a hit.   We have had tons of new students and better yet, I have somehow talked some of my students into becoming assistants!!!!!   Vicki, above in the purple, has just recently joined the ranks of cooking assistants and she is AWESOME!!! (the cute one in the center is me of course, and the one on the right is Vicki's sister, Heather)  Not only is she a great assistant, but she is a great photographer.  All the pictures in this post are courtesy of Vicki.....thank you!  We have been selling out 2 teas a month and over the next couple of posts, I am going to try to recap some of the best!

Our annual Easter Afternoon Tea was April 19 and we had a sold out class, WOO HOO!!!

We started the class not with a traditional scone, but with a Goat Cheese and Chive Scone with Tomato Relish.  The relish is not exactly the color I was going for, but gotta' admit, this scone is a keeper.  One of my students, Janis, posted this comment:

"Chef Shari's Teas are always good! I really liked the savory scone and sauce"

These were pretty easy to make and with all the goat cheese and buttermilk, they were very moist.
